Working hand in hand with the Community

Bridgeway recognises that Corporate Social Responsibility is a continuing commitment by our business to behave ethically and to contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of our workforce and their families as well as that of the local community and society at large.

Working hand in hand with the Communities we live and work in.

Bridgeway are committed to operating in a way that supports the three pillars of Sustainability, Social, Economic and Environmental.

We work to embed sustainability in the way we work as well as undertaking activities throughout the year that support the communities that we live and work in.

This reflects our commitment to support the welfare and wellbeing or our staff.

We work in partnership with our staff, supply chain partners and charities to deliver activities that support our local communities.

Recently we have:

  • Funded a public access defib machine for the local community

  • Donated PPE to Foxfield Heritage Railway
  • Held Monthly Litter picks around our HQ in Nottingham, collecting nearly 100 bags of rubbish in the last year
  • Collected donations for local foodbanks
  • Sponsor Rail Safe Friendly programme to share safety messages with 10 schools across the country, reaching over 2500 children already in 2024
  • Held a Women in Engineering Drawing Competition for local schools
  • Sponsor a community outreach programme with West Bridgeford Tennis Club, more accessible to over 600 children so far this year
  • Donated thousands of pounds including matching donations from staff fundraising efforts throughout the year
Supporting the Bridgeway Family

One of the most direct ways that we can have a positive impact on the community is through the diversity, development and wellbeing of our workforce.

As part of our Broadening Bridgeway programme, we work with the Career Transition Partnership (CPT), Prisons and other local partners to provide opportunities for those who face barriers to employment such as service leavers, ex-offenders and those experiencing long term unemployment.

We provide several development pathways for those looking to further their career including where relevant sponsorship of degree level study and professional qualifications.

In addition to our Employee Assistance programme, our network of 14 Wellbeing Champions come from every team, location and level across our business, leading to a well-rounded approach to our wellbeing initiatives. Our Champions bring their dedication and diversity so that everyone has someone they can relate to and lean on.
